Het 'Van Gogh Museum' in Amsterdam en 'Fujifilm Belgium' hebben samen vijf 3D replica's gezorgd van Van Gogh schilderijen gemaakt met een 3D printer. Door hier hun zelfontworpen reliefografie technologie voor te gebruiken. Een techniek met speciale aandacht voor kleur, grote, helderheid en textuur van het origineel.

Onder de projectnaam 'Relievos' maakten ze zo kopies van 'De Oogst' (1888), 'Korenveld onder onweerslucht' (1890), 'Amandelbloesem' (1890), 'Zonnebloemen' (1889), en 'Boulevard de Clichy' (1887).
“By means of the Relievos, availability and accessibility of the works of art can be enhanced, which gives the museum the opportunity to realize its mission to inspire and enrich as large an audience as possible. Besides, viewers will now be able to come up close to a Van Gogh painting, even touching it. This opens up different perspectives, among them the use of the reproductions for the benefit of the blind and visually impaired,”
Een manier om de toegankelijkheid tot de werken te vergroten. Het zorgt ook voor een extra bron van inkomsten voor het museum dat de kopies aan het publiek verkoopt. (via)
